What is a dental crown?
A crown (also known as a “dental cap”) is a dental restoration placed over a damaged or weakened tooth or dental implant for added strength, protection, and improved appearance. A crown protects exposed sensitive areas of the tooth from harmful decay-causing bacteria. A crown can often prevent tooth loss as well.
When is a crown recommended?
When a tooth is weakened from severe decay, wearing due to bruxism, or is broken, a crown may be necessary to protect and restore the tooth.
After a root canal, a crown is needed to cover and protect the treated tooth. Dental crowns are also placed on dental implants for strength, function and aesthetic purposes.

A dental crown is extremely durable and can last many years. Crowns often are a permanent solution for repairing damaged teeth. Regular at-home and professional dental care will add to the longevity of the restoration.
What materials are used?
Dental crowns are fabricated from several different materials, depending upon their placement. We offer 100% porcelain crowns that contain no metal as well as porcelain crowns that have a high noble gold understructure.

Dental Bridges
What is a bridge?
A bridge is a corrective treatment for tooth loss. A bridge is made up of a false tooth (or teeth) that are held in place by its connection to neighboring teeth.
Is there an alternative for tooth replacement?
Depending on your individual needs, a dental implant may be recommended to replace a missing tooth, since it does not weaken or compromise neighboring teeth.
What happens if I don’t replace a lost tooth?
If you are missing a tooth, it is important to replace that tooth. Without a replacement, neighboring teeth may begin to shift, causing problems with your occlusion (bite). This leads to difficulty eating, speaking and chewing. This collapse of the dentition can become very serious and even painful. Also, shifting of surrounding teeth can occur, leading to the need for additional treatment.
Fillings, Inlays & Onlays
A filling is used to protect a tooth after decay has been removed. Inlays and onlays are types of fillings that are created from an impression of the teeth.
